By placing a commission with Personal Arcana ("we," "us"), you agree to these terms. Please read them — the sections on photo rights and consent matter.

What we make

We create personalized tarot-style artwork and keepsakes from photos you provide. Our work is AI-assisted and human-designed: we use AI image generation as a tool, then curate, refine, and set the art into our own original card frames and typography. Cards are sold as personalized art and keepsakes for entertainment purposes. We are not affiliated with any traditional tarot publisher and make no claim that the cards have any predictive or supernatural function.

Photo rights & likeness consent

This is your responsibility and a condition of every order. By uploading photos you represent and warrant that:

• You own the photos or have the right to use them for this purpose.
• Every identifiable adult depicted has consented to their likeness being used to create your commission. We do not accept photos of people who have not agreed.
• Any card depicting a minor is being commissioned by that child's parent or legal guardian.

We may decline or cancel any order we believe violates these conditions or depicts a public figure, third party, or protected work without rights. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from photos you did not have the right to use.

Intellectual property

On full payment, you receive a personal-use license to the digital files of your commission — to print, display, and gift them for personal, non-commercial use. Our card frames, borders, typography, templates, and overall design system remain our intellectual property and may not be reused to produce other works. Note that under current U.S. Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated imagery may not be independently copyrightable; the human-authored design layer is ours.

Proofs, revisions & timing

Every commission includes a proof and one full revision round. Additional revisions are $10 per card. We do not print or finalize anything until you approve your proof. Target turnaround: digital single cards within 48 hours; Major Arcana decks proofed within about a week with printed decks arriving in 2–3 weeks. Rush 24-hour digital delivery is available for +$15. Timelines are targets, not guarantees, and printed-item delivery depends on our print partners and carriers.

Refunds

Because each commission is custom-made to your likeness, our default remedy is revision, not refund — we work with you until the likeness feels right. Digital deliverables are non-refundable once approved and delivered. For physical products, manufacturing defects or shipping damage are remedied by reprint under our print partners' policies; contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We are not responsible for dissatisfaction arising from low-quality or unsuitable source photos, though we'll always tell you upfront if your photos need improving.

Acceptable use

You may not commission content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, harassing, or that infringes another's rights. We reserve the right to refuse any commission at our discretion.

Disclaimers & liability

Our work is provided "as is" for entertainment and keepsake purposes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
